Student Discipleship Ministry

The goal of the Student Discipleship Ministry is to help youth age children (grades 7-12) grow into disciples of Christ equipped and capable of carrying out the great commission given to disciples by Jesus. (Matthew 28: 16-20).

The ministry aims to accomplish this by:

- The teaching and practice of core BELIEFS, so that the young disciple will
“have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge” Romans 10:2
- Accountability through RELATIONSHIP. “By this everyone will know that
you are my disciples, if you love one another”(John 13:35).
- Personal CONVICTION so that the young disciple will possess the passion
to be obedient in following Jesus. “For Christ’s love compels us, because
we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died”(2 Corinthians
5:14).

Ministry Components:

- Small groups: Providing an opportunity for relationships to be
formed/strengthened between students. Spiritual and social questions/issues
can be discussed with guidance of volunteers.
- Servants Heart: Provides opportunities for volunteer service to our local
church and the surrounding community. This will help enable the young
disciples to experience the joy and satisfaction of serving others as per the
example of Jesus.
- Discipleship Education: Providing a setting for young disciples to learn
biblical doctrine/principles, and to ask questions while receiving personal
encouragement.
- Mentoring: Providing each youth with a Christian adult mentor with whom
they can build a personal relationship.
- Special Events: A monthly special event with the purpose of creating
stronger relationships through fellowship.
